At RHHS, in Ms Tussey's Computer Applications class, students are starting to learn about Microsoft Excel. Recently, students were engaged in "Minute to Win It" type games during class so they could collect data to build their first Excel spreadsheet. Students will learn how to build a table, how to properly format it and organize the data, use various commands on the Excel ribbon, and so much more! The students will continue to build their knowledge of Excel throughout the semester by learning formulas, functions, and charts. It's going to be a fun semester! Follow "Ms Tussey's Business Class" on Facebook.
A few weeks ago in Ms. Tussey's Computer Applications class, students learned how to write professional business letters. Their assignment was to write to their favorite brand, company, or celebrity. Each year we usually get a few people who respond and send letters or items back (e.g. promotional products). Today we received our second response back from a company. Gracie received a letter, an autographed picture, a stainless steel thermos, a hat, and other promotional items such as a key chain. Mr. Franklin from Roush Performance also let Gracie know that she and her family were invited to tour their facility! That’s the first time any of my students have been invited for a tour! Gracie was beyond excited and I can say, I don’t blame her! This is awesome! Follow Ms Tussey’s Business
Today the junior high got to take part in a "Cross-Curricular Conservation Day." Students traveled to different stations throughout the day where they learned
about biodiversity, pollinators, food webs, and latitude and longitude of biodiversity hot spots. They also practiced reading and writing skills and played games while learning more about biodiversity.

Several of the junior high teachers attended a teacher workshop at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park in San Diego, CA over the summer, which sparked the idea to implement the conservation days into the junior high curriculum.

Each year we usually get a few people who respond and send letters or items back (e.g. promotional products). We just received our first reply back today for this semester! Sladen Johnson wrote to his favorite actor, Jonathan Banks (from Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul). He received an autographed picture and a short note from Mr. Banks! To say that Sladen was excited is an understatement! This was our first ever response from a celebrity in all the classes that have participated in this assignment. We usually get a few back from brands or businesses, but not usually celebrities. So it’s definitely an exciting day!
We would like to thank the Lawrence County Delts for judging the class floats.
